are only able to pull in a grand a month at best. Jenni's
downfall seems to confirm this.

I have to wonder if stay at home cam girls who really try to

In 1996, someone like Jenni having a 24/7 cam was a novelty. The
novelty wore off pretty quickly. Hell, even the most interesting
people do things that aren't compelling to watch.

There are other factors that led to Jenni's downfall.Dex, a bad sense
of PR, behavior that tarnished Jenni's "girl next door" image,and even
the dot-com bust played a part. But the biggest factor was most
likely the simple fact that the novelty wore off.

Sexcams have an inherent advantage in attracting paying customers than
lifecams. A sexcam can entice potential members by saying something
like, "see even the uncensored bits if you join!". Lifecams are
different in that all you're really promised is a faster refresh rate
of the same material. Unless there's a real likeability for the cam
operator -- a characteristic Jenni didn't cultivate -- nobody's going
to pay to see twice as many images of somebody sitting at their desk
or doing their dishes. And Lord knows, nobody's going to pay to see
a faster refresh rate of images of an empty blue chair.
